The quality of the drinking water and its consumption is one of the most critical topics for the European Union and the whole world. Based on this context, the programme aimed to accelerate Turkey’s accession to the EU by enabling Turkey to achieve a high level of environmental protection and compliance with the EU water and wastewater sector directives. In particular, the project aimed to provide technical assistance to the Kahramanmaras Metropolitan Municipality. While doing this, its purpose was to modernize the Water Utility Department and assist the Municipality in setting up and operating an efficient water and wastewater department.
