BACKGROUND AND CONTEXT

The participation of young people in the labour market is a challenging topic for every country. To increase the employability and entrepreneurship of young people, one needs to attract and retain more people in employment by promoting youth employment and decreasing the unemployment rate of young people. Within this scope, the purpose of this contract was to assist İŞKUR and all related stakeholders to provide services for promoting youth employment through increasing employability and entrepreneurship of the young people and improving matching services in the transition period from school to work.

CONCRETE RESULTS AND OUTPUTS

• Entrepreneurship capacity of the young people was enhanced in 15 growth centres, • A model on Youth Entrepreneurship Support (YES) was developed in 5 provinces, • Access to internship and on-the-job training was improved by establishing networks between workplaces/companies, • Action plans were prepared for youth employment for 5 growth centres to be used by the relevant institutions as roadmaps, • Grant scheme results among the relevant stakeholders were disseminated.
