The centre encouraged the growth of entrepreneurship by promoting the establishment and development of regional and national enterprises. We established and trained a strong management team to run the centre, drawn from key, local people with long-term involvement in the project, and developed a genuine feeling of local ownership in order ensure the centre’s financial sustainability in the future.
Requirements set out in the project’s terms of reference regarding the involvement of young women entrepreneurs were exceeded: compared with the target set of 25%, 10 out 23 tenants (or 43%) were young women entrepreneurs under the age of 29.
