BACKGROUND AND CONTEXT

Research indicated that disadvantaged people, especially poor students, lack in participation in the labour market. Consequently, the purpose of the project was to increase the employability of disadvantaged people, facilitate their access to the labour market, and increase their access to public employment services. Helping disadvantaged people gain access to the labour market, particularly students coming from poor backgrounds, was a focus. Specifically, it aimed to increase the cooperation between The Directorate General of Higher Education Credit and Hostel Institutions (DG CHI), universities, and other institutions dealing with employment and social inclusion policies to be able to deliver better services to disadvantaged higher education students.

CONCRETE RESULTS AND OUTPUTS

The project provided needs analysis training to help directorate staff and representatives of other relevant bodies correctly and accurately identify the needs of the target group, organized meetings, and events to increase the awareness of students concerning the opportunities open to them, and prepared printed information materials describing the services provided by the DG CHI.
