BACKGROUND AND CONTEXT

Turkey's European Union (EU) accession negotiations needed to eliminate the existing prejudices and suspicions between the EU and Turkey, and it needed to take an adequate step to strengthen the social and cultural dialogue between the two sides. Therefore, the project aimed to enhance contacts and the mutual exchange of experience between civil society in the Member States and The Republic of Turkey. Furthermore, it aimed to ensure better knowledge and understanding of the Republic of Turkey within the European Union, including Turkish history and culture, thus allowing for better awareness of the opportunities and challenges of future expansion.

CONCRETE RESULTS AND OUTPUTS

• The capacity of grant beneficiaries in project management and implementation was developed, • Expertise was strengthened, know-how was developed with EUSG and relevant authorities in programming, monitoring, and CSD-related-grant schemes through training, on the job support and transfer of know-how were evaluated, • Under the scope of Communication and Awareness Raising activities, a TV Spot Movie was prepared and broadcasted in national, local and European media channels.
