Background and Context

The overall objective is to contribute to the environmental protection and sustainable use of water in Turkey. The project aims to implement awareness-raising activities on environmental protection and effective and rational utilization of water resources.

Concrete results and outputs

Major results of the project are summarized below;

• Awareness of pre-primary, primary and secondary level of students regarding sustainable use of water and environmental protection was improved,
• Institutional capacity building for stakeholder institutions was developed by means of comprehensive training programmes aiming at “Training of trainers”,
• Promotional Campaigns was conducted to improve public’s attitude towards sustainable water and environmental protection awareness in the three pilot basins.
