BACKGROUND AND CONTEXT

It is essential to keep labour markets alive for every country in the world. As a result, the project aimed to increase the effectiveness of Serbian employment policy in line with the country’s labour market needs by working with institutions and organisations which are responsible for the labour market; including the National Employment Service (NES), the Employment Department of the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs (MoLEVSA), Local Employment Councils (LECs) and Local Self Governments (LSGs).

CONCRETE RESULTS AND OUTPUTS

• The capacities of the NES in managing and administering were strengthened, and by the end of the project, sustainable capabilities were built to handle further grants. • The capacities of the Employment Department in MoLEVSA were improved to perform activities delegated to it within the Operating Structure under IPA funded projects. • The enhanced performance of LECs employment policy and an increased capability to design and implement ALMP s toward hard to employ groups through Local Employment Action Plans (LEAPs).
